PAM Update: Adds ASCII mode for file transfers, bulk operations for record owners and sessions opened in a browser tabs

Highlights of this update include the option to open a session in a browser tab, ASCII mode when transferring files during in-browser sessions, process designs and current approval step to the list of access requests, bulk Cut, Copy and Delete options enabled for record owners and the option to search for records by shadow accounts specified in the search criteria.

Added the option to open a session in a browser tab

PAM traditionally opened sessions to remote computers in a popup window whether full screen or resizable.

This approach works well to bring attention to the remote computer when initiating sessions.

However, it is hard to see multiple remote sessions each in a separate desktop window in case multiple sessions are required to do the job.

This update brings the option to start a new session in a browser tab allowing users to handle multiple sessions in a more organized fashion.

Added ASCII mode when transferring files during in-browser sessions

Unix and Windows computers use different mechanisms to designate new lines in text files.

The problem manifests itself prominently when downloading files or reports from Unix servers to Windows desktops just to see their format completely broken.

This update introduced ASCII mode when transferring files using in-browser sessions that automatically fixes new line incompatibilities between operating systems allowing to see reports generated on servers clearly.

Added process designs and current approval step to the list of access requests

This update simplified the review of multiple access requests by adding information about the current step in the approval workflow with the indication of the next approvers in the process as well as users who already approved the request.

This option allows users to quickly evaluate the status of all their access requests and to escalate the approval process when needed.

Before this information was available only on the request details after drilling down to specific requests.

Enabled Bulk Cut, Copy and Delete options for record owners

This update brings popular Bulk Cut, Copy and Delete options earlier available only to the system administrators – to the record, vault and folder owners simplifying management of multiple assets for wider groups of system users.

There are some other issues fixed and new functions implemented.

Added the option to search for records by shadow accounts specified in the search criteria

For users who tried to delete or modify records just to find out that this object is used as a shadow account for some task processing there is a neat update: find all records that use the specified record as a shadow account for its task execution using shadow:QUERY criteria is the search bar.
