Imprivata Privileged Access Management Product Update 2.3.202105162243

May 16, 2021

This update added the option to embed session metadata and events to rendered video format, adds the option to configure resolution and bit rate of AVI, MOV or MP4 video recording.

The update also introduces the Oracle SQL Proxy beta program to encourage our clients and those who are interested in trying privileged access to Oracle RDBMS schemes.

Added the option to embed session metadata and events into the video generated from session video recording

The update adds the option to embed session metadata and session events into a video file rendered from the session video recording.

The option provides contextual information about specific privileged access to video recordings extracted from the system.

To enable the embedding option, switch global parameter Session Recording Metadata to Embedded.

Existing deployments might need to update $PAM_HOME/bin/PamSession.cmd or $PAM_HOME/bin/PamSession.sh files extracted from downloaded update package at https://bin.xtontech.com/product/pam-pkg.zip.

Added the option to configure resolution and bit rate of AVI, MOV or MP4 video recordings

The update adds the option to configure the quality of videos converted from the session recordings using application GUI instead of modifying the backend conversion scripts.

Use global parameter Session Recording Rendering Resolution to define the resolution of the resulting video (default is 640×480).

Note that the high resolutions slow down the process of conversion and add extra load to the System servers.

Use global parameter Session Recording Rendering Bitrate to define the bit rate of the resulting video (default is 2000000 for 2Mb/s).

Note that the high bit rates slow down the process of conversion and add extra load to the System servers.

Existing deployments might need to update $PAM_HOME/bin/PamSession.cmd or $PAM_HOME/bin/PamSession.sh files extracted from downloaded update package at https://bin.xtontech.com/product/pam-pkg.zip.

The added public beta for Oracle SQL Proxy

The update adds a public beta option for Oracle SQL Proxy. The option allows users to use native Oracle clients such as sqlplus, SQL Developer, Dell Toad Oracle, Squirrel, etc running on their client desktop computers to connect to remote Oracle RDBMS without disclosing scheme credentials.

SQL Proxy provides role-based permission, request workflow to the database access, audits the access, records SQL traffic and supports notification about session events.

SQL Proxy currently supports non-SSL connections to Oracle RDBMS version 11+ using JDBC or OCI protocols.

We encourage everyone interested in trying this proxy in their environment to contact our Support Team https://support.imprivata.com/ to discuss the details of the beta program.
